BIRDWATCHING TOURS
Birdwatching in the Yucatan is every ornithologists dream come true. Because of the richness of bird species birdwatchers flock to the area. The Ria Celestun Biosphere is an excellent location where many species can be spotted. Birds are abundant and the experienced guides work hard to provide our guests with excellent tours. With more than 500 species recorded in the Biosphere, including 11 endemic species, birdwatching is a really wonderful experience. On a 4 hour tour a guest of Casa de Celeste Vida was delighted to have seen 56 different species in one outing and 23 he had not seen before, including a Ferruginous Pygmy-owl. Throughout the year in the gardens of Celeste Vida avid birdwatchers and guests are amazed that they see so many species of birds while relaxing outside their suites. In the spring and summer we always have a number of hummingbird and oriole nests. It is a great experience to see the activity from the beginning of the nest building to the young leaving the nest. Tours start at $90. US per person -
Approximately 4 - 5 hours. Includes transportation, English speaking professional bird guide, water and light snack. This tour can be personalized for birders to see certain requested species. It includes, land birds, water birds and flamingos.
